Description

The PTA-2 represents the extension and consolidation of the first phase of the agri-food transformation project. Its main objective is twofold: to complete the construction of the Kara Agro-Industrial Park, the costs of which have been impacted by global crises, and to expand the agricultural development model through Planned Agricultural Development Zones (ZAAP). The intervention approach is structured around the value chain, aiming to secure upstream production to guarantee the supply of downstream industrial units. It should be noted that Phase I has already produced significant results, including the mobilization of 11,100 hectares distributed across 31 ZAAPs and the establishment of 7 Agricultural Processing Centers (CTA).

Objectives

• Industrialization of the Northern Region Finalize the infrastructure of the Kara agro-industrial park to enable the establishment of factories. • Agricultural Transformation Develop production, storage, and processing infrastructure (agricultural processing zones, dams, etc.) to increase agricultural yields. • Capacity Building Train producers and processors in modern techniques and value chain governance. • Inclusive Private Investment Encourage private companies to invest in priority sectors (rice, maize, soybeans, sesame, chicken, cashew nuts).
