Description

The "Wamanga wa Komor" program aims to mobilize and empower the Comorian diaspora to foster sustainable and inclusive economic and social growth in the Comoros. It is structured around two main pillars: supporting diaspora-led entrepreneurship and investment, with a particular focus on women and youth, and strengthening Comorian civil society (local and diaspora organizations) to effectively contribute to local and regional development. The intervention strategy is based on capacity building, structuring the entrepreneurial and associative ecosystem, and facilitating access to innovative financing, notably through a direct financing mechanism (grants/interest-free loans) designed to create leverage and attract additional investment.

Objectives

Inclusive and Sustainable Growth: Mobilizing the Comorian diaspora for growth in the Comoros that includes youth and women and is geared towards the green and blue economy. Strengthening Civil Society: Improving the contribution of Comorian civil society (including women's, youth, and diaspora organizations) to local and regional development. Access to Finance: Designing and implementing strategies to mobilize financial actors and support diaspora entrepreneurs in accessing innovative/alternative financing. Structuring the Ecosystem: Strengthening the capacities of Entrepreneurship Support Structures (ESSs) so that they can meet the needs of entrepreneurs and the expectations of financial operators.
