Description

The Ghana Economic Transformation Project (GETP) is a national program co-financed by the World Bank and the Government of Ghana to foster sustainable economic transformation by attracting private investment, accelerating business growth (particularly for SMEs), creating quality jobs, and improving competitiveness in non-resource sectors.

It applies the "Maximizing Finance for Development" approach to mobilize private financing to complement public resources and IDA (International Development Association) credit.

Objectives

🚀 Promoting Private Investment:
Support the growth of non-resource private investment by improving the business climate and strengthening investor attraction and retention capacities.

🏭 Economic Diversification:
Contribute to the structural transformation of the Ghanaian economy by fostering the growth of businesses in diversified productive sectors beyond extractive industries.

💼 Business and MSME Growth:
Support the growth of MSMEs and high-potential businesses through subsidies, technical assistance, and capacity building to increase their productivity, sales, and exports.

👥 Creating Sustainable Jobs:
Generate and sustain skilled jobs through the development of competitive businesses, the upgrading of MSMEs, and the development of new production areas (economic zones, industrial parks).
